Drinking Apparel, Corp. was formed in 2005, a couple months prior to my college graduation as part of an entrepreneurship business class project. The project was to create a fake company, write up a business/marketing plan and project the first five years of its existence. I put somewhere between little and zero effort in trying to decide what product or service I wanted my company to be. The fact is, the idea was left for me by a drunken version of myself from a Saturday night. From what I have been told, while playing a game of ass hole, on a jump-in social I spilled the remainder of my beer on myself. From this point, the following are assumptions. At that point in needed another beer and a new shirt, withboth in hand, I realized how perfect the two go together and the idea was born. In effort to not forget my brilliant idea the morning after, I wrote it down on a piece of printer paper. On Sunday morning, I vaguely remember having, what I believed the night before, the greatest idea of my life, but didn’t know what it was. Sure enough, on the dresser was the printer paper and in a kindergartner’s hand writing was, “drinking shirt.” It was and still to date, the best drinking idea I have had. That story, other than the class part, maybe entirely false, but it sounds good!

Anyway, I really did like the idea and I figured if I was going to put the work and effort in, why make a fake company? With the philosophy that most everyone enjoys some good drinking and everyone needs shirts, Drinking Apparel was born.

I don’t remember what I got what grade on got on that project or in that class, I did graduate though, so it wasn’t an “F”. Post graduation, I did not follow any of the plans created for my project. I had some designs make, printed some shirts and made a website. It was not soon after that Drinking Apparel was placed on the back burner. I wish I did follow through with the project, as we are recently past the five year projection goals. Though it has been a dormant six years, Drinking Apparel trying to be reborn with many new designs, ideas and a new website. The sites official re-launch has just kicked off, August 2011, and hopes to be a successful and fun ride with your help. Support a drinker, buy a shirt!
